The UVHS dining room offers a wide variety of fresh and healthy produce at break and lunchtimes for all year groups. There are two dining rooms; one for lower school children and one for upper school children. Sixth formers have the option to use either. The small dining room is also used as a study area for the sixth form during lesson times. The kitchen staff prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes daily, varying from spaghetti bolognaise and vegetarian moussaka to a full roast dinner, ensuring that everyone’s preferences are catered for. There are always hot and cold sandwiches, salads and three different varieties of pasta. All dishes are fully compliant with the school food standards and the kitchen has recently been awarded the highest possible food hygiene rating of five stars. The kitchen is ably and enthusiastically run by Mrs. Karen Wren and her team of dedicated helpers. She is always keen to listen to the views of the children and meets with student representatives from our Student Parliament to discuss their ideas about school meals. The recently introduced menu has been a big hit with both students and staff alike.
