MADE Training
Year 10 Residential, Ullswater, July 2025
Day 1: Upon arrival, we completed team-building activities and we learned that communication was going to be a key skill across the 3 days. Following this, we completed an orienteering task, allowing us to come together more as a group. We settled into our rooms, and after food, went for a late-night jog and dip. This was very cold yet refreshing!
Day 2: Following breakfast we got our kit ready for Gorge Walking. It was lovely weather, and we were lathering on the suncream! When we arrived at the gorge, there were some feelings of intimidation of the unknown but excitement too. However, it was a thrilling experience and was enjoyed by all! Later that night, we went on a wild camp expedition, which was challenging, but a truly rewarding experience, especially waking up in the fells in the morning.
Day 3: Once camp was packed away and breakfast consumed, we descended back to the centre. This allowed for some reflection time and time to have one last game of football! In the words of the students, this has been an AMAZING experience, with only one future recommendation… to stay for longer!
