Monday 13th February 2017, UVHS welcomed 5 members of the BAE Higher Apprenticeship Programme who were conducting the first part of a Mock Assessment Centre. The 13 students from Y13 who are currently in the process of applying for a Higher Apprenticeship themselves took part in a group exercise and presentation.
The purpose of the presentation was to assess the students’ knowledge of the BAE business and how well they presented. Key factors to consider were how important it would be to have a good background knowledge of the company, have a structured presentation and keep the assessors engaged. All the students received individual written feedback.
The BAE apprentices said how impressed they were with the quality of the content of the presentations and how well they were delivered.
The students said about the experience
The session was useful in realising the sort of qualities that BAE look for
It gave a real insight to the demanding interview process at BAE
The second part of the mock assessment is an individual 10-minute interview in a couple of weeks’ time to support students as they wait to hear if they are successful in reaching the real assessment centre stage in March. Good luck.
School Angel works with lots of big shopping brands in the UK which have agreed to donate a portion of the profit, they normally make on your shopping if you use the School Angel website to visit their shop. You are guaranteed to only pay exactly the same price, for whatever you buy, but UVHS will also receive a donation.
