In October we took a number of Year 9 students to Normandy to visit some of the battlefields, cemeteries and memorials of the Great War.

As part of the visit we looked at the writing that came out of ordinary soldiers’ experiences, both in the form of poetry and the letters and postcards sent home. The students have written their own pieces in response to the cemeteries, museums and memorials.
