FSM holiday vouchers have sadly now ended

We know many families have appreciated the WONDE supermarket vouchers provided to families in receipt of benefits related to free school meals, over the past 5 years.

Unfortunately, due to changes in national funding, these vouchers have now come to an end.

Although the vouchers have ended, there is still a range of support available for children and families throughout the school holidays and across the year.

Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme

The HAF programme runs during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays and is available for children receiving targeted Free School Meals.

Children can enjoy a range of fun activities, with meals provided at sessions across Westmorland and Furness.

You can find out more and book places here:

Best Start Family Hubs

The Best Start Family Hubs offer support for families in lots of different ways, including:

  • Cooking and nutrition workshops
  • One-to-one support for parents receiving out-of-work benefits through the DWP Family & Community Work Coach
  • Free activities for children, young people and families across Westmorland and Furness

Family Help and Advice

Crisis Support

If your family is facing financial difficulties, you may be able to apply for a Crisis Support Award.

This support is designed to help low-income households dealing with unexpected financial pressures, such as:

  • A sudden loss of income
  • Unexpected household bills
  • Emergency situations

The scheme also aims to provide early help before problems become more serious.

Citizens Advice can also offer support and advice around benefits, debt, budgeting and other financial concerns.
